Registered Psychotherapist
Jennifer is a Registered Psychotherapist with graduate training in Expressive Arts Therapy. She works with children, teenagers, adults, parents, families and couples. Her areas of work include neurodivergence, grief and loss, parenting, relationship changes, separation and divorce, and questions about identity, meaning and spirituality.
Jennifer offers longer-term, depth-oriented psychotherapy as well as focused support around particular concerns or symptoms. Her approach is integrative, relational and experiential.
Experiential therapy goes beyond talking about an experience by finding ways to explore and experience it more directly within the therapy session. This might include noticing bodily sensations, putting an unspoken belief into words, working with an imagined situation, or using writing, images, movement or art materials. Creative participation is optional, and no artistic experience is required. Jennifer adapts this work for differences in sensory experience and mental imagery, including aphantasia.
Jennifer’s training is in Expressive Arts Therapy, which works across multiple forms of creative expression. Visual art may be used alongside writing, movement, sound, play and other ways of engaging with experience.
Her adult practice includes late-identified autistic and ADHD adults, gifted and twice-exceptional people, and artists and creatives. Sessions may focus on masking, burnout, sensory overwhelm, or patterns that remain difficult to change despite considerable reflection and effort. There is also room for creative and spiritual life alongside practical, everyday concerns.
With parents and caregivers, Jennifer draws on Connected Parenting™ to work with empathy, connection, co-regulation and limit-setting. She supports parents navigating neurodivergence, emotional intensity and changes in family life, including separation and divorce.
With children and teenagers, Jennifer uses child-led expressive arts and play-based approaches. Sessions may include grief, medical experiences, family transitions, and sensory or emotional overwhelm. Parent involvement is discussed in relation to the young person’s needs, consent and confidentiality.
Jennifer also offers therapy for mixed-neurotype couples navigating differences in communication, sensory needs, expectations and responses to stress. She receives ongoing clinical supervision for this work.
Across her work, the pace and approach are developed collaboratively, with attention to consent, the therapeutic relationship, and readiness for more emotionally demanding work.
